Well the last week has been exactly that for me…surreal.
If you’ve been following Friend in Fashion on instagram, you would have noticed, that the last week I’ve been galavanting around the streets of New York, alongside my friends at Uniqlo.
What can only be described as the most incredible whirlwind tour back to New York, afforded me the unique opportunity of taking a first look at Uniqlo’s LifeWear FW collection (due to drop in Australia next year), as well as a range of other incredible experiences, with one brand that I have a strong affinity with.
I was also fortunate enough to have the opportunity to shoot on location in the Big Apple, my edit of this season’s finest from Uniqlo. I’ll be bringing you my campaign shortly, but in the meantime, I have to share with you some amazing highlights from my New York Visit.
DAY 1 HIGHLIGHTS
To kick off our itinerary, we were invited to explore Uniqlo Soho, for a store tour, and naturally a spot of shopping!
A highlight of the Soho store for me, was the dedicated ‘reading’ area, tucked away in the corner, with a beautiful chesterfield lounge, the space showcases an incredible collection of collectable books and magazines, that you can enjoy and take home!
I was then treated to the Uniqlo LifeWear F/W17 presentation. Our first look at what’s in store for next year’s Autumn, Winter collection. Can I just say - the collection is incredible! One of my favourite designer collaborations, Ines De La Fressange is a hit, as well as an incredible instalment from the LifeWear capsule. The neutral and monochrome palette are so perfect for every wardrobe.
DAY 2 HIGHLIGHTS
The most amazing day was kicked off with a private tour of MoMA (Museum of Modern Art), to coincide with Uniqlo’s SPRZ NY artist program. To be able to take in classics works by Monet, Andy Warhol and Van Gough in a private tour was a once in a life time experience.
DAY 3 HIGHLIGHTS
When in New York, we shop! Again I was treated to a store tour, this time Uniqlo Fifth Avenue - the largest retail space along 5th Avenue, at over 89,000 feet. It’s so big, they have their own Starbucks inside the store!
Needless to say, more shopping was enjoyed!
Soon I will bring you my campaign of Uniqlo winter favourites (and how to wear them), shot on location in the Big Apple.
Special thanks to my ultimate travel girl gang (Jess, Stacey, Monica & Mish), and of course Uniqlo for an amazing New York adventure. Definitely one to remember.
