MINKPINK DIY DENIM SHORTS on Friend in Fashion MINKPINK DIY DENIM SHORTS on Friend in Fashion MINKPINK DIY DENIM SHORTS on Friend in Fashion

Readers would know that denim shorts fill a large part of my wardrobe, so when my friends over at MINKPINK asked me to DIY a pair of their iconic slasher shorts, I of course jumped at the chance.

Since I'm on my way to sunny California, neon and lace detailing captured my imagination when adding my own personal touches to these killer shorts.

And now it's your turn to get creative.

MINKPINK are inviting you to customise a pair of their slasher shorts - however you like - for your chance to win a new season wardrobe valued at $1000!

For all the entry details and DIY-spiration, check out the 'Suped up Slashers' facebook page here.

Dear friends,

The lovely Geneva, of A Pair & a Spare is as beautiful as she is creative, and is by far one of my favourite bloggers!

A short while back, this queen of DIY was kind enough to send over my very own multi-coloured bodycon skirt, which I've had trouble taking off ever since.

Best of all - this gorgeous skirt doubles as the sweetest tube top - double trouble!

If you're a lover DIY, I encourage you to hop on over and pay A Pair & a Spare a visit - you won't be disappointed.

I’m wearing:
Knit, Evil Twin via Market HQ
DIY tube skirt, via A Pair & a Spare
Wedges, Tony Bianco

Luv,
Friend in Fashion

I'm definitely starting to miss thrifting of late, but nonetheless, Vietnam has some brilliant shopping of its own. Sure there is plenty of your faux designer fashion, but if you know where to look you can pick up some gorgeous pieces at a fantastic price.

I picked up this pretty little number in a small, hidden boutique in the Old Quarter for around $15. I love the vintage feel of the print, and the cut is what you would expect from a piece 10 times the price.

This week I'm looking forward to catching up with a great friend of mine, who I've known since primary school. Although I'm having an amazing time travelling, its always nice to have friends and family visit - can't wait!

I'm wearing:
DIY necklace
Dress, Wanby (Vietnam)
Boots, Charlotte Russe

I reworked this gorgeous vintage dress which i picked up from a local thrift store for just $6 and am thrilled with the results. Vintage dresses are my fashion weakness and I adore the beautiful detail and craftsmanship in this piece, from the lace, to the gilded flower, to the tulle petticoat!

It's less than 3 weeks until I start the first leg of my overseas travels. My first stop - Santa Monica. I have two months to see the sights of North America, before heading off to Hong Kong, Vietnam and then Europe - I can't wait! Please keep sending through your amazing suggestions, I look forward to meeting up with as many bloggers on my travels as possible.

Now on to more important matters, the lucky winner of the Hayley Kate design is the beautiful
Diamonds and Champagne congratulations and thank you to everyone who entered.

Have a great week!

What a perfect Christmas - I've spent the last few days over indulging in the company of family and friends, which has been fabulous.

Even though it is quite hot here in Australia at the moment, I adore my MC Hammer pants, so I whipped them out for holiday drinks with my fiancé and good friends. My fiancé liked my outfit so much, that this afternoon, after a perfect day at the beach, we headed out into the sunshine for a quick shoot.

I hope you have all had a lovely festive season so far - I can't wait for New Year celebrations.

I'm wearing: DIY singlet, DIY shoes, handbag strap worn as belt, thrift leopard sunglasses.

There is a story to these photos. I was leaving work, when I stumbled past this fabulous jacket in the window of my favourite vintage boutique - best of all I picked it up for only $10. I then headed home to find that my DSLR remote control had finally arrived. I was so excited to test it out, that I jumped straight in and out of the shower, threw on my beloved tube skirt, and snapped away (in the backyard, no makeup, and hair still wet!).

Also a big thankyou to June Paski, who sent an "Awesome Blogger" award my way. Here are 7 new things about me.

1. I play the piano and saxophone
2. I’m a huge foodie and love eating out at restaurants
3. I play tennis and was a state representative swimmer
4. I love to sing, but am terribly shy about it
5. I have a huge vintage dress collection
6. I love foreign and art house film
7. A dream of mine has been to travel the world (which will happen next year!)

I'd like to pass this award on to: Lulu Letty, Zanita, the Sydney Girl, Come Over to the Dark Side, KIRAFASHION and Style Sophisticate.

As promised, a few happy snaps from my birthday celebration over the weekend. Despite the recent heatwave, it was a cold, wintery and windy night, but still great fun!

Apologies for the lack of outfit shots - I’m wearing a vintage black blazer and vintage dress (worn as a mini-skirt) from my recent ‘Fields of Gold’ post. I’m also wearing the most fabulous DIY shoes that I can’t wait to share with you in a separate post.

Finally, don’t forget that this is the last week to enter my fashion giveaway to win a custom made dress. Increase your chances of winning, by blogging, twittering or facebooking the competition. Entries close this Friday.

Good luck!
