CECILIE COPENHAGEN | ONE DRESS, 3 WAYS

There is something to be said about filling your wardrobe with great quality essentials.

The art of mixing and matching wardrobe basics is almost an art - an art made easier when you have some great staples in your on hand.

From day to night, I’m going to take my favourite dress by Cecilie Copenhagen (via Farfetch), and transform it simply with the use of some key accessories.

LOOK 1
Who says you can only wear a dress like a dress? For a perfect casual look, I’ve tucked my smock dress into my favourite black jeans and teamed with a great black lace up heel - done!

LOOK 2
Festival-friendly, I’ve grabbed my favourite boater hat, and statement ankle boots to once again transform from a simple dress, to street-snap worthy style.

LOOK 3
Time to dance - I’ve cinched in the waist with a skinny belt, and a statement heel to transform the look from day to night. I couldn’t resist styling with my favourite new Dior shades for a touch of metallic glam.

And there you have it - one dress, three ways! Which look is your favourite?

THE DESIGNER GIFT GUIDE

‘Tis the season is almost upon us, so I wanted to share with you my ultimate gift guide of designer goodies from Farfetch...

Dior, Givenchy, Valentino and Chloe, are always on high rotation as some of my favourite designer options and I’ve hand-picked some of my season must-haves for gift giving this season.

Whether you’re giving or receiving, when it comes to gift giving, I always opt for quality over quantity. With this in mind, if you’re looking at spoiling yourself this festive season, or want to drop a few helpful hints to your other half, I say stick to one key accessory that you are guaranteed to get wear out of for years to come.

If budget is no option then it’s all about a signature IT bag, or street-snap-worthy statement shoes…or both! Afterall, a girl can never have too many shoes or handbags…right?

When it comes to bags, my first visit is always the designer vintage category. Pick up a pre-loved, rare, Louis Vuitton, or Chanel, or Hermes for something extra, extra special. Or if you prefer something sparkly new, IT-girl-favourite Chloe will definitely turn heads.

From Jimmy Choo to Alexander McQueen, sandals to pumps, there is definitely something for every shoe lover. I often tend to go all out when it comes to my shoe decisions, so more is definitely more. Keep a statement pair of heels simple with a white tee and jeans, or opt for a bold look with a gorgeous cocktail dress.

If you’re on a bit more of a budget, then I’ve handpicked some of my favourite accessories which come in under $250. I think this Moschino belt is an absolute must-have for all fashion lovers, and instantly adds a splash of glam to a simple black dress or pair of shorts. Jewellery is always a fabulous gift, especially when you’re not sure where to start. I opt for fine pieces, which can be mixed and matched easily with existing jewellery. Always a winner.

And there you have it – a few of my fashion favourites. You can shop all thesestyles and more [here]

WAYS TO WEAR - NORMCORE

I’ve previously shared my love for ‘normcore’ dressing - unisex, ‘unpretentious’ dressing at it’s finest. Picture 90s throwback, low-key cool, with a splash of athleticism...

'Normcore seeks the freedom that comes with non-exclusivity. It finds liberation in being nothing special, and realises that adaptability leads to belonging. Normcore is a path to a more peaceful life,' states K-Hole in Vogue.

One of the biggest appeals to this trend is really a minimalist approach to fashion. It’s all about bringing things back to basics and not using fashion as a way of determining and highlighting gender.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m the first one to grab a dress of the rack, but day to day, the appeal of throwing on a pair of boyfriend jeans, a slouchy tee and a pair of trainers definitely reigns supreme.

To master this look, I love to reinvent key styles from my other half's side of the wardrobe or, failing his enthusiasm of me ‘borrowing’ his favourite sweater, a quick shop in the men’s department works a treat.

When approaching normcore, opt for sweaters, that double up as dresses, or the perfect ‘men’s white shirt’, which is one of the most versatile wardrobe investments. Wear it on its own, tucked into denim or tied up with midi skirts or shorts. Instant chic!

Acne is always my go-to for the perfect wardrobe basics.

I found this sweater while shopping online, which, with its oversized cocoon shape is a little avant-garde, but definitely a piece I had to have.

I generally steer away from oversized styles, as I tend to down in them a little, but this one was just too special to resist.
