Last week, I had the absolute pleasure of shopping up at storm at one of my favourite Melbourne shopping destination - The Strand Melbourne, to celebrate an exciting new giveaway just for YOU... 

The Strand Melbourne are celebrating all things colourful and are welcoming you to partake in their inaugural photography competition - #coloursofthestrandmelbourne.

From July to September, The Strand Melbourne will be giving away a fabulous, colourful collection of luxury fashion and featured accessories, each month, from their shops including Acne, Funkis and Gorman, and all inspired by one key colour.

First up (you guessed it), the colour is green, which is where I take inspiration for this outfit (all sourced from The Strand Melbourne, naturally). Now here's the exciting part!

FRIEND IN FASHION'S GUIDE TO MELBOURNE

Melbourne is hands down one of my favourite cities in the world. 

The perfect blend of cosmopolitan hotspots, European architecture, some of the best restaurants and cafes and naturally of particular interest to me, world class fashion and shopping. 

 The thing I love most about Melbourne is that it is a city rich in layers. A city you’ll love wandering around and getting lost in. I love it’s laneways, rooftops and underground secrets spots known only by locals. There is always much more than meets the eye in Melbourne. 

 Recently, I was invited by American Express to develop a hit-list of my favourite Melbourne must-sees for their Shop Small Walks Map. From my favourite high-end fashion boutiques – Marais and Green With Envy, to a Melbourne sweet-lovers institution, La Belle Miette, and everything in between.

I’ve hand-picked my favourite fashion boutiques, cafes, restaurants and night spots, that I think any visitor to Melbourne will enjoy. Even if you’re a local, there may be a few new spots to uncover. You can view all of my city favourites HERE.

MELBOURNE VS SYDNEY FASHION

A short while back, I teamed up with Sydney Fashion blogger, Rochelle Fox, for a fun project, comparing the difference in style and fashion between Sydney and my home town of Melbourne.

The adventure kicked off in Sydney, with Rochelle taking me on a tour of her favourite spots around Sydney to try and convince me that Sydney style is where it's at.

It was then my turn to flip the tables, showcasing the best of Melbourne style and culture, which wasn't difficult.

We had such a great time filming as well as comparing and contrasting the differences between the two cities.

MELBOURNE STREET STYLE

One of the best things about Melbourne is the way the city embraces street art and culture. A maze of alleyways throughout the city invites you to explore on foot, the amazing sights, tastes, and of course boutique fashion, which is at the heart of this bustling metropolis.

Hosier lane, where these pictures were taken has to be one of my favourites, characterised by walls plastered with the work of artists from here, there and everywhere. Every time I walk through there is something new to uncover.

Fun in the sun

If you've been following my adventures on twitter, you would already know that, (much to my disappointment) there hasn't been much of a summer at all in Melbourne.

The other day however, I managed to catch a glimpse of the sun I've so been missing. Jumped on my bike and headed straight to the beach.

Melbourne Fashion Festival is coming up soon and the next few weeks are filled with lots of fashion fun! Can't wait to share all the action with you!

Wild flower

I've now arrived in Melbourne, which I will be calling home for at least the next couple of years.
