48 HOURS IN HONG KONG BY JASMIN HOWELL

There is something which draws me to big cities - I love the hustle and bustle, the sounds the sights and Hong Kong is no exception.

I've returned to Hong Kong for only my second visit and I feel even more in love with this cosmopolitan city. I'm working on a new passion project, that sees me experience some of the best sights, sounds, tastes and style my favourites cities have to offer in just 48 hours.

If you have any Hong Kong tips - please send them my way either via instagram / twitter @friendinfashion or EMAIL me. I'd love to include all your favourites as well!

I can't WAIT to share more of this, and all of my travel tips with you soon - be sure to stay tuned for more coming really soon.

The location was perfect - right in the heart of the action and only from Hong Kong's biggest shopping mall - Harbour City! Valentino and Balenciaga were at the top of my shopping list.

Much love to my amazing French makeup artist and photographer who spent a gorgeous balmy evening running around the streets of Hong Kong.

I'm all about the accessories and watches are always such a subtle and chic way to add luxury and elegance to an outfit.

When searching the Rado collection, I was impressed to find such a vast array of styles for every taste and occasion. To showcase this great variety of on-trend time pieces, I've created four separate looks - from casual to evening.

LOOK 1 - WINTER WARMER

As well as being a girl's best friend, diamonds can instantly add that touch of glamour and luxury to any outfit. To create an on-trend, street-style worthy look, simply take your favourite pair of jeans, add a warm chunky knit for winter, a pair of statement heels and complete the look with the RADO DIAMASTER DIAMONDS watch in ceramic black.

Simple and understated.

LOOK 2 - NIGHT OUT

Black lace, diamonds and a red lip, the winning tri-fector when it comes to evening glamour.
The RADO HYPERCHROME DIAMONDS is my favourite piece from the collection, and is simply stunning.

The diamonds sparkle like nothing you've ever seen. A definite head turner, perfect for a night out.

LOOK 3 - CASUAL CHIC

For perfect everyday wear, you can't beat a denim shirt, which I've paired back with a bold, contrasting striped harem pant. When accessorising this look, I've opted for the RADO COUPOLE CLASSIC, a minimalistic, easy to wear watch staple.

Simple and chic.

LOOK 4 - BOHO BABE

For that summer-ready look, I've teamed my favourite broderie white maxi dress, with the RADO TRUE time piece to create a bold white on white look.

This ultra-thin watch is amazingly light and scratch resistant, so it's perfect to wear all day, without worrying about bumps or scuffs.

If you're looking at updating your accessories collection, and are looking for a beautiful, luxury time piece, I urge you to check out Rado's latest collection.

You won't be disappointed.

STREET STYLE | TRAVEL ESSENTIALS

As a fashion and travel blogger, style and technology go hand in hand.

When packing for a trip, I'm drawn to quality pieces that not only look great, but will also stand the test of time.

Here are a few of my travel essentials.

STYLE ESSENTIALS

+ Comfy shoes - for all travel and transit well worn in flats are essential. At the moment, my Valentino rockstuds are on high rotation. Once I hit the street, a pair of classic black pumps take-over.

+ Travel bag - a great small cross body bag is another essential of mine. Chanel is my everyday go-to. I love a cross-body style when travelling because it is a more secure option and it also leaves your hands free for signing documents, handling cash, or importantly taking that perfect photo.

+ Sunglasses - a classic oversized style is a saviour after a 16hr flight, especially when your eyes are a little worse for wear. Prada cat eyes are my style of choice.

TECHNOLOGY ESSENTIALS

+ Quality headphones - these are a MUST for all flights and will not only help you enjoy your inflight entertainment in style, but they are essential for blocking out additional cabin noise.

BOSE are my go-to headphones every time, I love their styling - they are sleek and compact (great space-savers when packing) AND best of all they are bluetooth compatible, which means I don't have to rely on cords or cables.

+ Laptop & Camera - I don't travel anywhere (even for a day), without my laptop and camera. I always shoot on a Nikon, and rotate between my DSLR and compact cameras depending on my destination and how long I'm away for.

+ Portable speaker - This BOSE SoundLink portable speaker is the newest addition to my carry on and I am in love! It's small and compact, which is extremely practical for travel, and, as with the headphones, these also operate via bluetooth.

I love that I can now take my tunes down to the beach or pool and the sound is absolutely incredible - perfect for an impromptu summer beach party.

What are your travel essentials?

I'm wearing: Bose headphones, Zara knit, Seven For All Mankind jeans, Jimmy Choo pumps, Chanel wallet on chain

In partnership with Bose.

WHEN IN NEW ZEALAND…BUNGEE JUMP!

A few highlights of my recent adventure to the North Island of New Zealand.

I experience a terrifying bungee jump off Auckland bridge, a sea plane adventure to Waiheke Island, and a thrilling helicopter ride to the top of Mount Tarawera Volcano.

Strictly black and white, today is Derby Day in Melbourne.

I write this jet-lagged from a hotel in Hong Kong, where my flight schedule sadly hasn't afforded me the opportunity to return to Melbourne in time to celebrate this always fashionable event.

To me, races is all about keeping true to your style, but with that little extra something. I'm beyond thrilled to have had the opportunity to have teamed up with my favourite, The Outnet, and to share with you my Derby Day fashion.

It's all about classic shillouetes, with a modern twist.

Not normally a body-con fan, this Hervé Léger had definitely changed my stance - the scallop detailing and mini-length is the perfect statement white ensemble for the brave, and this Simone Rocha ball gown, truly is what dreams are made of.

With such statement fashion, I've opted for more subdued head-wear. This Lady of Leisure lace crown adds the perfect touch of elegance, and an embellished hair pin from my friends at Fiel Sol, along with a little netting creates a more dramatic look.

Given that I will be only celebrating Derby Day in spirit only, I think I definitely have the perfect opportunity to whip out one of these looks for Melbourne Cup on Tuesday, which I definitely will be in town to celebrate.

Which look is your favourite?

Summer is oh so close here in Melbourne, which means it's time to pack away the coats and make the transition across to a summer wardrobe (my favourite).

Summer dressing to me is all about ease and simplicity, which sees me largely drawn to white sundresses, oversized tanks, and of course playsuits.

This is my newest wardrobe addition and drew me in with the gorgeous contrast crochet detailing.

I'm completely and utterly obsessed with all things crochet and broderie, something that just screams summer to me.

In other news, I'm off to New Zealand this week - this will be my first visit to NZ and I can't wait! I may even bungee jump if I can muster up the courage!

I found these unpublished photos, from my recent trip to TOKYO.

This was my first trip to Japan in the summer time, and I can tell you it was scorching.

In the past I have visited the country in winter - taking advantage of the amazing snow on offer, so for some reason, I had the perception that summer in Tokyo would be a lot more mild.

Boy was I wrong…crop tops, and cotton skirts, cool showers and air conditioning got me through steamy TOKYO summer afternoons...

I picked this coat up a few months ago, on my last visit to LA.

The same trip I had the good fortune of bumping skirts with THE Leonardo DiCaprio (yes the real one), along with an elaborate crowd of red-carpet celebrities at the Critics Choice Awards.

You can read more of THAT LA adventure HERE.

It's done the rounds amongst bloggers, but it really is the perfect statement coat.
A great pop of colour.

I'm now headed to the airport for another adventure in one of my favourite cities - Tokyo.

I was thrilled when invited by Front Row Style to select and style my new season favourites from their curated collection of Aussie designer fashion.

When shopping online, I tend to be drawn to great silhouettes, (case in point - this amazing split skirt), as well as bold statement pieces, like this cut out tank, or StyleStalker slogan sweater.

I also find myself drawn to a much more monochrome wardrobe lately, but can never pass on key splashes of colour.

All outfits available at Front Row Style.

TEAM STOCKHOLM

Channeling my Scandinavian state of mind here, as I plan my first visit through Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Iceland.

I've decided to continue to embrace all things monochrome. As I've mentioned before, I'm never one to steer clear of colour, but sometimes, change is as good as a holiday right?

Speaking of which, I'm in the midst of planning out another global adventure. The thing with travel is that once you start, it becomes incredibly difficult to stop. I find myself compelled to explore new uncharted territory, whilst at the same time being drawn to my sentimental favourites.

As Bill Bryson puts it perfectly - to my mind, the greatest reward and luxury of travel is to be able to experience everyday things as if for the first time, to be in a position in which almost nothing is so familiar it is taken for granted.

For now it's back to the planning station.

As soon as I laid eyes on these incredible houndstooth shorts, I had to have them!

Manning Cartell has to be one of my favourite Australian labels, always feminine and always the right balance of on-trend pieces and classic wardrobe must-haves.

After NYE celebrations, lined up for tomorrow evening (you can check out my party outfit HERE), I'm off again on another road-trip of Australia, driving from Melbourne, all the way up North, to the Sunshine Coast.

Beaches, sunshine, and great adventures - bring it on!

Happy new year to all of my beautiful readers.
