And so 2014 is upon us. Happy new year friends.

Over the break, I was asked by GAP to participate in their styld.by project, styling my selection of GAP favourites.

The thing I love about such an iconic brand like GAP is that you can consistently find great quality basics. I'm also loving these amazing wax-coated jeans.

To coincide with my collaboration with GAP, I will also be hosting a live styling session at the GAP store in Melbourne Central on the 23rd January. Hope to see you there!

STREET SMITH

The other day, I had the pleasure of catching up with Melbourne street-style photographer, Street Smith for a few shots around our beautiful city.

I wanted to shoot my newest fashion acquisition, this incredible leather skirt, with perforated side detailing and new leopard heels.

I'm generally always drawn to a great leopard print, especially when it comes to accessories - a great way to add a statement easily to any outfit.

ON THE STREETS NEW YORK

Nothing like a splash of colour in the form of tie-dye to brighten up the streets of New York.

I've since moved on from New York, after enjoying an amazing month, and have landed in a very tropical Miami.

I'm enjoying my return visit to the very beautiful Betsy Hotel, for a few days, before setting off on another amazing adventure in South America.

NYFW STREET STYLE PART II

Here is a look at my outfit for day 2 of NYFW, snapped running between shows.

I'm a big fan of slogan tees, and Zoe Karssen is always a favourite of mine - as you can see here in this earlier blog post.

During fashion week, I had quite a few questions about this skirt, which is one I designed a short while ago while travelling through Bali.

A leather skirt is such a versatile piece, and has served me well through my travels.

IN THE DETAIL

My obsession for headpieces continues.

This Vanessa Mooney hair accessory, is beautifully delicate and adds interest to any outfit.

Another new wardrobe love of mine at the moment is this leather skirt, which I designed and had made on my last trip to Bali. I love to experiment with different silhouettes, so naturally, I had to team this wrap skirt with my new By Johnny Peplum top.

COMO SHOPPING CHALLENGE

Last week, instagram and twitter followers, had the first look at my Como Shopping Challenge adventure.

To celebrate, the recent refurbishment of The Como Hotel, and its prime position on the corner of one of Melbourne's most iconic shopping strips - Chapel Street, Friend in Fashion, along with a handful of other bloggers, were invited to partake in the Como Shopping Challenge.

Each blogger was given a budget of $500, a time limit of 2.5 hours and free reign of Chapel Street to shop a perfect, head to toe cocktail look.

Following a frantic afternoon of power shopping, we were invited back to the Como Hotel, pampered with champagne and strawberries, while the team at Miss Fox, transformed our hair and make up.

The evening concluding with canapes and couturier duo, J'Aton judging each blogger's final look.

After scouring each store, some more than once, I couldn't resist, embracing the pastel trend for the evening, settling on this incredible asymmetrical leather skirt, and mint silk camisole from Australian designer, White Suede.

Fiel Sol accessories and Tony Bianco sandals completed my look for the evening.

Big thanks to the Como team, for a  beautifully luxe shopping, wining and dining experience.

BLESSED ARE THE MEEK

For my last guest post for SurfStitch, I couldn't resist styling this buttery soft Blessed are the Meek leather skirt.

Generally, I love to wear lots of colour, but as soon as I slipped this statement skirt on, I felt like mixing things up a bit, channelling a head-to-toe neutral look.

In other news, it isn't long now until my birthday celebrations, which means the search is on for the perfect party dress. At the moment, Zimmermann and Alice McCall are at the top of my wish list.

As always, tweet, instagram or facebook any suggestions you might have - I'd love to see them.
