A short while ago, while tumbling around instagram, I came across this beautiful mesh ball dress, by graduate Sydney designer, Georgia Annabelle.

This backless dress, is definitely head-turner, and was the perfect outfit option for the Melbourne Fashion Festival closing event celebration.

Keep an eye on this up and comer.

KHAKI LOVER

Trend alert - Military is in...

This season I've teamed up with Westfield to share some of my AW15 #FashionObsessions

Military is the first of my favourite trends.

I’m absolutely obsessed with Khaki as the colour of the season, which I see as the perfect colour compliment to classic black and white.

Teamed back with statement boots, I plan to transform this look further, as the weather cools by styling with a black fitted turtle-neck and tights.

THE CROCHET BIKINI

Welcome to this slice of paradise…

I'm wearing: Andi Bagus crochet bikini & straw hat.

In the last year, Bali has become a home-away from home for me.

Over Christmas, I had the pleasure of a little rest and relaxation, travelling through Bali, and enjoyed a few nights in this oasis, also known as The Amala, right in the hustle and bustle of Seminyak.

Famous for its great shopping, food and nightlight, Seminyak is often on most Bali tourist itineraries, which means it can get busy and sometimes overwhelming (in the most pleasant sense), so to have a peaceful and quite resort to return to and relax is most welcomed.

Aside from its beautiful decor, and jade-green waters - each private villa in The Amala, has it's own gorgeous plunge pool. There are only 12 villas on the property, making it a gorgeous, private and quite place to unwind.

The perfect luxe escape - and a must on your next visit to Seminyak.

NO PLACE LIKE HOME...

I firmly believe there are times in life, when you need to switch off, regroup and recharge, and home for me is where I can do this best.

When I'm travelling, I'm often away for months at a time and my sleep is the first thing that is disrupted.

Now that I'm home grounded for a while, I'm embarking on a mission to improve my poor sleeping habits in an attempt to improve my overall health and wellbeing.

For the next six weeks, I'm taking on the A.H. Beard 6 Week Sleep Challenge, and I invite you to do the same.

Essentially, the challenge (in consultation with leading sleep scientists) is a free health and well-being improvement program that delivers customised sleep advice based on the type of sleeper you are.

By taking the challenge and regulating my sleep, I hope to be able to improve my overall memory, and energy levels, reduce stress and generally benefit from better all round health. I look forward to sharing my progress with you.

You too can take part of the A.H. Beard 6 Week Sleep Challenge by signing up here: http://ahbeard.com/sleepchallenge/

VIETNAM TRAVEL DIARY | PART II

Vietnam really is a magnificent country...

A few years ago, I had the opportunity to live and work in the North of Vietnam, in Hanoi, which was such a unique and eye opening experience.

At the end of last year, I had the opportunity to revisit Vietnam, with Contiki as a part of their Vietnam Highlights package.

SEE PART ONE OF MY VIETNAM TRAVEL DIARY HERE

On the second half of the tour I was able to explore more of the South of Vietnam, from Hoi An, to Hue.

An absolute highlight of the trip was my first visit to the beautiful and historic city of Hoi An.

Hoi An was so different to other parts of Vietnam I had experienced. It felt untouched and I loved the history weaved through the town's architecture, food and shopping. Hoi An, truly is a melting pot of Vietnamese, Chinese and Japanese culture.

The best way to get around is definitely by cycle, and a stroll through the markets after dark is a must. You will be treated to the most beautifully overwhelming display of colourful lanterns.

If you get the chance, a visit to Vietnam is a must. A country so vast and diverse, there is definitely something for everyone.

SAY HELLO TO MY LITTLE FRIEND

Introducing my newest accessory...

Keepsake lace romperGivenchy clutchby jasmin jewellery

Say hello to my little friend, my new Fiat 500 convertible.

For the better part of last year, I was abroad, travelling, so It has been so lovely to kick off the new year, with some rest and relaxation, settled back home in Melbourne.

Because I'm often away, I've missed having my own car, so I was thrilled when I was given the opportunity to test out this new beauty.

It is the perfect city run-around for me, dashing between shoots and appointments, and doubles as a fun and ultra-stylish fashion accessory. The Fiat definitely turns heads.

Can't wait to road-trip down the coast this weekend, with the roof down, and fresh air through my hair.

If you've been following my instagram (@friendinfashion), you would have noticed me wearing A LOT of white lately. I think there is something so minimal and chic about dressing in one colour, and having darker hair and features, I love the contrast of wearing all-white.

I also love statement dressing, and this incredible detailed dress, by my good friend, French designer, Magali Pascal has to be one of my all time favourites.

This is the second part of my collaboration with Magali Pascal, to celebrate the arrival of by jasmin fine jewellery (my jewellery label) in Magali Pascal stores across Bali.

Over the festive season, I had the opportunity to holiday in beautiful Bali.

As always, a trip to Bali isn't complete without a visit to one of my favourite boutique hotels, The Bale, which is where I felt it fitting to dress up and run-around in this gorgeous dress.

The Bale, is tucked away in gorgeous Nusa Dua - just a short drive from Denpasar airport, and is my favourite place to stay when in this part of Bali. An absolutely stunning backdrop, to showcase, what is now my second favourite dress (second only to my wedding dress!)

Delicate sequinned bodice, layer upon layer of ombre skirting, and all topped off with the perfect bow. What's not to love.

This dress was my final outfit choice to ring in the New Year.

STREET STYLE | TRAVEL ESSENTIALS

As a fashion and travel blogger, style and technology go hand in hand.

When packing for a trip, I'm drawn to quality pieces that not only look great, but will also stand the test of time.

Here are a few of my travel essentials.

STYLE ESSENTIALS

+ Comfy shoes - for all travel and transit well worn in flats are essential. At the moment, my Valentino rockstuds are on high rotation. Once I hit the street, a pair of classic black pumps take-over.

+ Travel bag - a great small cross body bag is another essential of mine. Chanel is my everyday go-to. I love a cross-body style when travelling because it is a more secure option and it also leaves your hands free for signing documents, handling cash, or importantly taking that perfect photo.

+ Sunglasses - a classic oversized style is a saviour after a 16hr flight, especially when your eyes are a little worse for wear. Prada cat eyes are my style of choice.

TECHNOLOGY ESSENTIALS

+ Quality headphones - these are a MUST for all flights and will not only help you enjoy your inflight entertainment in style, but they are essential for blocking out additional cabin noise.

BOSE are my go-to headphones every time, I love their styling - they are sleek and compact (great space-savers when packing) AND best of all they are bluetooth compatible, which means I don't have to rely on cords or cables.

+ Laptop & Camera - I don't travel anywhere (even for a day), without my laptop and camera. I always shoot on a Nikon, and rotate between my DSLR and compact cameras depending on my destination and how long I'm away for.

+ Portable speaker - This BOSE SoundLink portable speaker is the newest addition to my carry on and I am in love! It's small and compact, which is extremely practical for travel, and, as with the headphones, these also operate via bluetooth.

I love that I can now take my tunes down to the beach or pool and the sound is absolutely incredible - perfect for an impromptu summer beach party.

What are your travel essentials?

I'm wearing: Bose headphones, Zara knit, Seven For All Mankind jeans, Jimmy Choo pumps, Chanel wallet on chain

In partnership with Bose.

WHAT TO WEAR TO THE POLO

Yesterday, I had the pleasure of attending the Polo as a guest of Tempus Two Wines...

Before an event, I ensure that I have two or three outfit options lined up, and then the morning of, I make my final decision.

My choice for the Polo this year, was an all white ensemble, which to me, sums up what the Polo is all about - elegance.

Together with my other half, we enjoyed a lovely event, sipping on Tempus Two bubbles and indulging in an absolutely delicious feast of local produce.

I'm told by people who ought to know, the actual polo match, too was a treat.

I'm wearing: Misha Collection dress, My Red Lippy hat, MNO.logie clutch, Tibi blazer

ON FILM | 2014 WHAT A RIDE...

2014 for me was a year filled with extreme highs, and extreme lows.

On the one had, I had the good fortune of travelling the world, and on the other, this was the year that I experienced my first significant loss.

Now more so than ever, am I aware of just how beautiful and volatile life can be. And it is for this reason, that the philosophy of, living each day to its fullest (as cliche as it sounds) underpins by being and existence.

As my father would always say - be the kind of person who leaves a positive mark on the world.

My goal for 2015 is to explore more of this incredible world and give back in which ever way I can. I will focus on my health and well-being.
I want to make the most of each day and make each day count.

I am thankful beyond words for the opportunities and experiences I've enjoyed and the people I've met along the way - who have each left their mark on my journey.

But most of all, I owe thanks to YOU, for reading this post and my blog.

For now, I choose to reflect on the positive, highlighting some of my favourite adventures of 2014. From walking the red carpet in LA, alongside Leonardo Di Caprio, to snorkelling the beautiful depths of the Maldives, to experiencing the most terrifying and exhilarating bungee jump off Auckland Bridge.

I leave you with the thought 'blessed are the curious for they shall have the adventures'.

Happy new year to all of my gorgeous readers, and here's to a prosperous 2015.

MEET FRANK...

My secret to perfecting smooth, glowing skin for summer.

I'M WEARING - Lace dress by Sabo Skirt

My secret to perfecting smooth, glowing skin for summer.

Before heading off to the beach, I like to exfoliate with Frank - their new peppermint coffee scrub is my favourite.

After bathing, I complete my summer skin routine with a generous lathering of the original Body Balm. I find this works really well for me, in alleviating the dry skin that goes hand in hand with sun, sand and sea water.

If you're on the hunt for a great natural exfoliating or moisturising skincare solution, then I'd definitely recommend trying out FRANK for yourself.

TWEET me how you go - would love to hear your results! @friendinfashion

BEAUTY REGIME

Having naturally combination skin, sadly I'm not immune to blemishes, which is why I try and maintain a really simple, but systematic beauty regime.

I never wear a lot of make up so clean and clear skin is most important. Recently, I've been starting my beauty routine with pHisohex facial wash to cleanse my skin.

What I love most about this daily cleanser is that it cleans and unblocks my pores (gently), without drying out my skin. It helps me maintain blemish-free skin.

If you're prone to break-outs, pHisohex is a good ph balanced product to try.

Next, I like to refresh my eye area with a great eye cream, Clinique is my brand of choice and helps tackle any dark circles. I love to keep this product refrigerated as this creates a lovely cooling effect on tired eyes.

A great tinted moisturiser is next and helps even-up my skin tone and also provides me with SPF skin protection throughout the day. Nars is my go-to because it is super light-weight and provides barely there, natural coverage.

Finally I complete my daily fresh-faced look with a splash of luminance thanks to YSL Touché Eclat, a sweep of bronzer (my Nars Laguna/Orgasm duo is a MUST), then a dash of Dior Addict gloss to protect my lips.

And that's my daily beauty regime - what are your beauty must-haves?

On my journey to health and well-being, In addition to a more intensive work-out regime, I've also started to pay much more attention to my diet, and more importantly, ways to incorporate as much goodness into my diet as possible.

On my journey to health and well-being, In addition to a more intensive work-out regime, I've also started to pay much more attention to my diet, and more importantly, ways to incorporate as much goodness into my diet as possible.

I thought I'd share with you some of my fitness and health tips.

In addition to regular boxing sessions (I aim for 2-3 session per week), with my trainer Ruan Kotze (F.I.T.E. PT), I try and incorporate some form of physical activity into every day.

When I'm travelling, sadly, I don't have access to my trainer, so I love to head out-doors and make use of what ever is available to me. Walking, running or stretching is possible almost anywhere I find myself and I ALWAYS travel with a skipping rope - It takes up little to no room in my luggage and It's a great way to get some exercise in.
Skipping is also a winner, when I find myself wide awake in the middle of the night battling jet-lag.

My routine when I'm on the go:

3 Minute Skipping
20 x Bicycle Sit ups
20 x Squats
20 x Push Ups
20 x  Burpees
